What to expect?

Initial Consultation

Your initial consultation will start with a confidential full case history regarding your presenting complaint, your physical, medical and lifestyle history.

A physical examination will then be carried out if appropriate. This involves observation of standing posture and active and passive joint movements and if relevant orthopaedic and neurological testing may be included.

Note: You may be asked to remove outer layers of clothing for examination and treatment so please wear appropriate undergarments you feel comfortable in or bring shorts or leggings to wear.

Based on the examination findings and the case history, we will discuss with you your diagnosis and an appropriate treatment/ management plan. This can give you an idea of the number of sessions you may need and if any referrals to other healthcare professionals may be needed.

If osteopathic treatment is appropriate and you are happy to proceed, we can discuss possible treatment options. These include structural, soft tissue and neuromuscular techniques, aswell as cranial techniques.

Follow-up sessions

During each follow-up sessions, we will ask you how you are progressing and undergo a physical examination to tailor your treatment to the current presenting complaint.
