FAQs

Who can have osteopathic treatment?

We treat patients of all ages and lifestyles. From newborns to the elderly, we provide care for every stage of life, including pregnancy, work life, sports enthusiasts, DIY enthusiasts, and retirement.

Patients below the age of 18 will require a parent/ legal guardian to attend the sessions with them.

How many sessions will I need?

A full assessment will be taken by your therapist before you start treatment. This may require further imaging to confirm a diagnosis. On average, patients attend 4-6 sessions, however, this may need to be reviewed 8-10 weeks post-treatment to ensure long-lasting results.

Are there any side-effects?

During the consultation your therapist will adapt the technique and the pressure they are using to ensure your comfort. You may experience a slight reddening or swelling of the affected area post-treatment, however, for most people, this is accompanied by a reduction in pain. We always make the patients aware of possible post treatment soareness or tiredness for 24-72hrs following the treatment.

How quickly will I see results?

Osteopathy may not offer a miracle cure. Although there may be some immediate pain relief, it is important to remember that this does not mean the injury or condition is fully healed. Osteopathy works best as part of a rehabilitation and treatment plan which may include other exercises or changes to help manage your condition. It is important to review progress regularly with your physician to ensure long-term results.
